Position Overview

Viltis is seeking a Drug Manufacturing Technician to support our client's toxicology laboratory in Gretna, Louisiana.

In this role, you will work as a Positive Aliquoter, handling presumptive-positive specimens and preparing aliquots for confirmation testing in accordance with established laboratory procedures, SAMHSA mandatory guidelines, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on laboratory position well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable following strict procedures, and able to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove presumptive-positive specimens and aliquot samples for confirmation testing.
  • Arrange and organize aliquots according to established laboratory procedures.
  • Store positive specimens in designated refrigerator and freezer areas.
  • Retrieve frozen specimens when re-aliquoting is required.
  • Receive and open specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysis.
  • Review specimens and chain-of-custody documentation for completeness and acceptability.
  • Document specimen information accurately.
  • Destroy specimens when required according to established procedures.
  • Clean and maintain the work area daily.
  • Follow laboratory security procedures and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Comply with company policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow laboratory techniques, procedures, and written SOPs.
  • Ability to accurately follow detailed instructions and documentation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or other laboratory computer systems is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, or other regulated laboratory requirements is a plus.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform work requiring full-body movement.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated areas and approximately 20°F freezer environments when storing or retrieving specimens.
  • Vision and hearing must meet minimum requirements necessary to perform the position safely and accurately.
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory environment where there may be potential exposure to hazardous or toxic materials.
  • Ability to work effectively in a production-driven environment and manage the stress associated with laboratory production requirements.

Regulatory Environment

The position requires the ability to read, understand, and follow applicable SOPs and regulatory guidelines, including 49 CFR Part 40, SAMHSA requirements, and CAP-FUDT guidelines.

Temp-to-Perm & Bonus Opportunity

This position is temp-to-perm, providing an opportunity for permanent employment based on business needs and successful performance.

Eligible contractors may also receive:

  • $400 bonus after 30 days
  • $400 bonus after 90 days

Bonus eligibility is contingent upon meeting attendance and performance expectations.
