Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in injection molding processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing injection molding tools and processes to support our manufacturing operations. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, material properties, and manufacturing processes, particularly in the context of injection molding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop injection molds and tooling systems based on project requirements and production standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to evaluate mold designs and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles are met.
- Optimize injection molding processes to improve cycle times, reduce scrap rates, and enhance product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to injection molding equipment, tooling, and processes.
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in injection molding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- X+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a focus on injection molding.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and modeling.
- Strong understanding of mold flow analysis and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of materials used in injection molding (thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, etc.) and their properties.
- Experience with designing for high-volume manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
