CONTRACT – SENIOR MANAGER, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Position Summary:

The Contract - Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, under the direction of the Director of Business Operations & Analytics, provides domain knowledge and is responsible for functional business analysis activities including driving requirement gathering, dashboard development, solution testing, and engaging closely with business stakeholder.  They act as a subject matter expert in data analytics capabilities.  This role provides ongoing process improvement, system and tool enhancement and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various cross-functional partners in Development to deliver analytics solutions including requirements gathering, source identification and creation, process design, technology assessment and development, and development of reports and dashboards
  • Lead strategic planning, tactical execution, and operationalization of various efforts aligned with portfolio and organization objectives while remaining compliant with applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of relevant department-level and cross-functional processes, systems, tools
  • Lead a portfolio of business analytics process and solution lifecycle through planning, inception, implementation, and operations
  • Guide technical and architectural discussions that impacts processes and user experience
  • Partner with technical team(s) to develop insightful, accurate analytics and visualizations to identify trends and risk identification
  • Act as internal consultant for industry benchmarks across Development
  • Identify and analyze relevant metrics and KPIs to compare current performance to industry benchmarks
  • Support portfolio resource planning and enrollment forecasting processes, analytics, and tools
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competition, and current/emerging technologies
  • Analyze and document current state business processes, identifying pain points and gaps in process or system functionality as areas of opportunity
  • Develop end-user training strategies and deliver supporting materials to support system deployment
  • Develop both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows

Qualifications:

  • 6-9+ years of relevant experience and has earned a BS or equivalent degree
  • Experience providing guidance to less experienced team members
  • Understanding of drug development and program/project management processes
  • Experience in common Development systems, including eTMF, CTMS, EDC, RIM, and Veeva platform
  • Depth of experience with business intelligence analytics and visualization tools and supporting platforms, including but not limited to Tableau, Excel, Visio, AWS, Redshift, Snowflake, Matillion
  • Depth of experience with SQL and database querying languages
  • Excellent influencing skills, with demonstrable ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key business partners, IT leadership teams, and external service providers
  • Experience with data mining and preparation for management review
  • Proficient in the use of enterprise Project Management applications, including SmartSheet
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (verbal and written); effective in interactions with cross-functional teams and senior management
  • Proven ability to manage a broad scope of responsibilities by prioritizing work and managing stakeholder expectations effectively
  • Work independently and resourceful in acquiring information that is required to complete work with highest quality and service levels
  • Consistently delivering an exceptional customer experience, even in times of high volume, ambiguity, or adversity
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify the relevant business factors and prioritize them accordingly
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately and with discretion
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office tools on Windows platform: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Notes, and Teams
  • Demonstrated ability to assess current and future business needs to ensure the clinical documentation function is strategically and operationally positioned to properly support the Development organization
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Experience leading and/or contributing to the selection of systems and vendors
  • Travel up to 10% of the time, as needed
